During presentations and church meetings, we are regularly asked for suggestions and recommendations on how to develop a social media policy for the church. Suggestions we have, but as we tell them, “Since each church is different, and each denomination has its own standards and expectations, not one social media policy is perfect for every church.” We can give suggestions, but we can’t provide a definitive policy for them to use. That’s tough, because I know staff, committee and ministerial members want a template from which to work.

Are you working on a social media policy for your church? If so, I suggest you read this article, “The Ultimate List of Social Media Policies for Churches and Ministries.” The author, Justin Wise, gathered information on social media policies for churches and whole denominations. He also included some links to tools and additional resources that you will find helpful.

At CTRN, we don’t have all the answers, no one does. We do, however, have the desire and determination to help you find the resources and information needed to answer the questions that you are asking. Check out the site and let us know what you think!
