Luke 15:4 says, “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?     ( http://bible.cc/luke/15-4.htm )

An important task assigned to church staff is  “tend to the sheep.”   You are shepherds.   How are you tending to your flock?  Are you ensuring that all of your sheep are present and accounted for?  You must remember to include, involve, engage and equip your sheep.

How can you effectively shepherd your congregation when you don’t recognize or include all of your sheep?

Please remember that providing an updated church directory is a very important connectional and ministry tool!  Don’t publish a printed directory and expect it to help you shepherd your ever changing church family.   Printed directories are out of date within 3 months of publication.

One of the newest and best shepherding ministry tools is an active, multi-dimensional church family directory.  A web based church family directory allows staff members to access member information at anytime from anywhere. That capability strengthens their ability to identify, connect with, minister and tend to your “sheep.”

Jesus used a staff when tending his sheep.  What staff are you using to tend to yours?
